Introduction
It was not until 1998 that the first commercial vintage was harvested in the Perricoota region. Erratic attempts had been made in the middle of the nineteenth century without success. The name of the region comes from Perricoota Station, established in the 1850's. There are now five grape growers in the region with 330 hectares under vine, and three wineries.

Primary Wine Styles

Chardonnay
The always-adaptive Chardonnay produces wines with peach and light tropical fruit overtones.

Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon
Very short history of the region, together with the move from white wine to red, makes assessment difficult. Having said that soft, ripe red wines are the basis of the region.
