Introduction
The famous film `The Man from Snowy River' was made here. Tumbarumba is one of the most isolated wine regions in Australia. Ian Cowell and Frank Minutello established the first vineries at Tumbarumba in 1982. The majority of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown in the region are used to make sparkling wines. These two varieties account for 75 per cent of the total harvest.

Primary Wine Styles

Sparkling
Australian sparkling wines utilise a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Furthermore, it also utilises multiple regional sources for its fruit. Most years an important part of the fruit comes from Tumbarumba Wine Estates.

Sauvignon Blanc
It is the only regionally produced wine to be available commercially through retail outlets. An audacious style, that shows plentiful varietal character with rich gooseberry flavours neatly underlined by herbal notes.

Chardonnay
Graceful Chardonnay, offering crisp melon, citrus and fig fruit in classic cool-climate style.

Pinot Noir
Very stylish Pinot Noir with clear varietal character.
