Introduction
Kangaroo Island has the possibility to develop synthesis between wine and tourism to an exceptional level. This is the third largest island off the Southern Coast of Australia, 60 times larger than Hong Kong Island. It offers an astonishing range of attractions for the tourist, the most prominent being native flora and fauna as well as unpolluted beaches and coastal scenery. A dozen or so growers have planted approximately 30 hectares of vines, the Florance Vineyard at Cygnet River being the first to be established in the mid 1980's.
