Primary Wine Styles

Chardonnay
Fine, elegant, lightly structured and potentially long-lived wines are the result from plantings around Mount Macedon. The warmer sites in the lower altitude and the warmer years give fuller flavoured styles.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot
John Gladstones indicated that both sunshine hours and mean temperatures are similar to those of Bordeaux. And that the wines produced from appropriate grape varieties should be typical of Bordeaux style. Therefore, it should be no surprise to learn that Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominate the plantings, furthermore that some very attractive and elegant Cabernet Merlots have been produced.
